- Technical data: IP address, browser and device type and security logs, used to keep the service running and to protect it from abuse.
How we use data
- To create and run your account, sign you in and keep it secure.
- To show your content to the people you choose and to provide features such as messages, listings, maps and notifications.
- To send service emails such as address verification and password reset.
- To moderate content, prevent fraud and abuse and meet legal obligations.
- To improve the service using anonymous page counts, only if you agree.
Legal bases
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on performance of our agreement with you (account and features), our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention and a working service), your consent (location sharing and anonymous statistics, which you can withdraw at any time) and legal obligations.
Google user data
SailLib asks Google only for the openid, email and profile scopes. We use them only to create your account and sign you in.
We do not sell this data, do not use it for advertising and do not share it with third parties, except service providers needed to run SailLib. No person reads it except where needed for security, to follow the law or with your consent.
SailLib's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Browser storage
We use two strictly necessary small files stored in your browser. The first keeps you signed in and cannot be read by page scripts. The second protects forms against forged requests. They are not used for tracking.
Your browser also stores your language and your choice about anonymous statistics.
If you agree, we count page views anonymously: the language, the type of page and the screen size, with no personal identifiers. We do not use advertising or tracking files.
Who receives data
Other people see what you publish according to your visibility settings.
Service providers process data for us under our instructions: hosting and email delivery, and Google when you sign in with Google.
We disclose data to authorities only when the law requires it. We never sell personal data.
How long we keep data
We keep account data while your account exists. After you ask us to delete the account we remove or anonymise your data, except what we must keep by law or for a short time for security. Backups are overwritten on a regular schedule.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, a portable copy and you can object to processing or withdraw consent. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
Use the privacy settings and the Support section of your account to exercise these rights.
Children, security and changes
SailLib is not intended for people under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
We protect data with encrypted connections, protected password storage and limited access.
If we change this policy we publish the new version here with a new date and, for important changes, tell you in the service.
