Community rules

Last updated: 27 October 2026

SailLib is a place for people who sail, own a yacht or travel by water. These rules keep the feed lively and useful, and they add to the Terms of Service.

Share your own sailing, photos, questions, events and routes. Advertising, fraud and insults are not allowed. AI checks every post before it goes out: clean content appears at once, an obvious violation is not published, and a moderator looks at anything doubtful. If a post still breaks the rules, report it from the More menu on its card.

  • Stories about trips, passages and anchorages, photos and videos you took yourself or have the right to share.
  • Questions and tips about yachts, gear, marinas, weather and navigation.
  • Events, regattas, looking for crew and companions.
  • Honest reviews, including negative ones, without insults.
  • Sale and charter listings go in the market sections, which have their own review.
  • Advertising and mass mailings, the same post over and over, links for the sake of links.
  • Fraud: asking for a password or code, asking for money or crypto, fake deals.
  • Insults, threats, harassment, hate speech.
  • Explicit or violent content, illegal goods and services.
  • Other people's photos and texts without permission, other people's personal data.
  • The exact berth of someone else's yacht and anything else that could help harm people or a vessel.

Posts, events, routes, stories, comments, reviews, listings and your profile (name, about, avatar) are checked by AI before they appear on the site, both the text and the photos. It usually takes a few seconds.

If there is no violation, the post appears at once. If the violation is obvious, it is not published and you see the reason. If the AI is unsure, only you see the post, marked “Under review”, until a moderator looks at it.

Videos are checked after processing, so a post with a video appears a little later. If you change the text of a published post, the new text is checked again.

For new members the AI looks more closely at links, e-mail addresses and phone numbers. Requests for a password, a verification code or a crypto payment always go to a moderator.

  • During the first day after you register: 1 post an hour and no more than 3 a day.
  • After that: up to 3 posts an hour and up to 10 a day.
  • Posts, events and routes count together. If you reach the limit, the post stays a draft: publish it later.

You can report a post from the More menu on its card in the feed: spam, fraud, insult or another violation. The author does not learn who reported it.

After a report the AI rechecks the post at once, taking the reason into account: an obvious violation is removed, anything doubtful goes to a moderator.

When 3 different members report a post, it leaves the site until a moderator decides.

You can send up to 20 reports a day. A report is not a way to remove an opinion you disagree with.

The AI does not read private messages. If the other person reports a message with the Report button under it, the AI checks only that message: an obvious violation is hidden for both of you, anything doubtful goes to a moderator.

A moderator looks at what the AI is unsure about and can put back a post the AI rejected by mistake. Hiding or removing a post always needs a reason, which stays in the case.

You can see the status of your posts under “Your feed posts”. If you disagree with a decision, contact support from your account.

For repeated violations we may limit posting or block the account, as the Terms of Service say.
